Dylan Harper has credited Gregg Popovich with reading him better than he reads himself, describing how the Spurs coach pulls him out of passive stretches during games.
"He may know me better than I know myself. There are moments when I get a bit passive, and then he calmly texts me: 'No, you're not going to play like that. You're going to play the way we know you can.' Getting that kind of push from a legend is incredible," said the 20-year-old.
Harper helped San Antonio reach the finals in his rookie season. In the play-offs he averaged 14.1 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 26.8 minutes a game.
