"I feel like I got thrown in a washing machine with a dryer, some tin cans, some shovels and a cactus," she said. "It's a lot. How do I say this nicely? What's meant for you will always work. And if something continually makes you feel uncomfortable, continually keeps you on edge, you probably just don't belong there. I kept trying to fit pieces together that didn't fit, trying to fit myself into somebody else's life. I lost a little bit of myself. Right now I'm in a moment where I'm finding myself again. I can't be diminished. I won't stand behind a man. I have to have a partner. I will be equal with my partner. I will never take a back seat, there's nothing that would make me do that. A man can't disrespect me. And he has to be grateful. Period."
