The Warriors guard missed the start of the campaign while recovering from a torn ACL and made his season debut only in December. He went on to appear in 51 games, averaging 12.3 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.6 assists in 23 minutes a night.
Injuries left Golden State fielding what Melton described as three different rosters over the course of the season, and each one asked something different of him, he said.
Golden State have been in the news this offseason. Stephen Curry, 38, is set to be offered a maximum two-year extension worth $136.7m, while Jimmy Butler continues his own rehabilitation from an ACL injury, with a return targeted for January or February.
