Obradović: Panathinaikos Had Only Three Joint Sessions
Panathinaikos coach Željko Obradović says injuries and national team duty limited pre-season prep to just three joint training sessions so far.
Panathinaikos coach Željko Obradović has said the club has held just three joint training sessions ahead of its first pre-season tournament, with several players still returning from national team duty and others dealing with injury concerns.
"We now have health problems, and that is not great. On top of that, quite a few players were away with their national teams. So before the first pre-season tournament we managed only three joint training sessions. This week we will have four more, and in the week before the start of the EuroLeague, another three. Ten sessions in total. It sounds like a good joke, but that is our reality," Obradović said.
"It is a special bond. I never lost it, either with the club or with the people around it. On top of that, I became an honorary citizen of Athens. A few years ago I bought a flat here. So you could say this is, in a way, my city," Obradović said.
