Bill Simmons: Time for Clippers to Rebrand?
The Ringer columnist suggested Steve Ballmer's Clippers consider a name change to 'Hollywood Knights' after new NBA sanctions stalled the franchise's title ambitions.
Since buying the club, Ballmer has overseen a new logo, a new arena and heavy investment, without the Clippers reaching genuine championship contention. The latest NBA sanctions against the organisation have put those ambitions on hold for the foreseeable future.
"Maybe it's time to change the name? This is the moment. Time for a rebrand. I've always wanted the 'Hollywood Knights,' even though they're not in Hollywood. You could spell it with a 'k' or with an 'n' — nights. It would feel completely different," said the Ringer columnist Bill Simmons.
