Doc Rivers is returning to television as an analyst for NBC Sports, which has announced that he will work its NBA broadcasts in the new season. Rivers, 64, ended his coaching career in April.

Rivers said of the appointment: "I loved playing basketball, loved coaching and have always loved talking about the game. I have great memories of working with NBC, and I am glad to return and share my view with such a talented team. This season should be very interesting."
