Jalen Duren rates himself above the Thompson twins
Duren points to his All-Star and All-NBA honors as leverage in his own Pistons contract talks after Ausar and Amen Thompson's big extensions.
Detroit's five-year, $155m extension for Ausar Thompson has added fresh context to Jalen Duren's own contract talks, The Athletic reports, coming weeks after Ausar's twin brother Amen agreed a five-year, $208m deal with Houston.
Amen Thompson finished as a finalist for Defensive Player of the Year last season. Neither twin, though, made the All-Star Game or an All-NBA team. Duren managed both.
On that basis, by all accounts, Duren rates his own value above either of the Thompsons, pointing to what he achieved over the last regular season as the stronger case.
