Toronto's Kawhi Leonard refused to address the NBA's Clippers salary-cap inquiry, saying he wants to move on and focus on basketball after 70 distracting days.
Kawhi Leonard declined to discuss the NBA's investigation into the Clippers over alleged circumvention of salary-cap rules when he spoke at Toronto's media day.
"I understand why some of you came. You want to hear about the investigation, but after talking to the NBA and the players' union I think it is better now to move on and concentrate on my play for Toronto," Leonard said.
He said the affair had been a distraction for the past 70 days. It kept him from meeting his team-mates and from taking part in the mini-camp with them.
"So right now I just want to talk about the Raptors," Leonard said. "I have already published a statement, which you can read. But, as I said, right now I just want to focus on basketball again and on playing for Toronto."
The statement he referred to is the only word on the matter he has put on record. If he keeps to that line, this may mean the questions about the inquiry stay with him into the season.
