Kelly Oubre: Philadelphia was too slow, Pacers suit my running game

Kelly Oubre said the pace of play in Philadelphia was too slow for him, and that playing alongside Hali was a factor in his move to the Pacers. The forward changed teams this summer.
He described what he expects from Indiana: "I can still give my team a lot. And my new club is the Pacers. A fast tempo, a bright style. But also an excellent system, thanks to the superb coach Rick Carlisle."
Of his previous team he said: "In Philadelphia everything was great. I liked it there very much. But the tempo was slow, and that is not criticism. I'm a wing. I like to run. I like fast breaks, and Hali is the best at that."
Oubre did not hide that Hali influenced his decision. "It would be silly to deny he was a factor in my choice," he said. "He is the team's leader. It is a rare case where the main player also has a level head on his shoulders."
"I'm not saying he will get to 100% straight away, but I'll be glad to help him get back to his previous level and add my own understanding of the game to his basketball," Oubre concluded.
If Hali does return to his old form, Oubre's remarks suggest the Pacers will build their game around the fast break again.
