Thanasis Antetokounmpo: Playing with Kostas at Aris is wonderful

Thanasis Antetokounmpo said a visit to the arena with Giannis was an important factor in his move from the Bucks to Aris, who have reunited him with his brother Kostas this offseason.

"I saw the passion of the fans first-hand. Something deep and special, I had not felt anything like it for a long time," Antetokounmpo said. "It was not just love of basketball or goodwill towards our family. The fans need a goal. I like working with teams that have ambitious, historic aims."

He also spoke about playing alongside Kostas. "It is very good to play with Kostas again. Apart from the national team, where we won medals, we played together for Filathlitikos. It is wonderful to play the big brother's role on the floor again. I will tick that item off my list."

Asked about Giannis, Antetokounmpo kept the answer short. "We will see about Giannis coming. First we will need to solve our local tasks, and then everything else will follow."

This may mean Aris go into the season with two of the brothers and a clear order of priorities. On Antetokounmpo's own account, the club's objectives come before any talk of a third.
