About the player
Carlos Abastoflor came through Academia Tahuichi Aguilera, joining the Santa Cruz academy at the age of seven. His first senior football came at Club Calleja, where he finished as top scorer of the Primera A (Santa Cruz) in 2020. He stayed there until June 2024, making 54 appearances and scoring five goals.
Abastoflor went to Always Ready on a free transfer in July 2024, before he joined Real Santa Cruz that same month, again as a free agent. He played 22 matches and scoring three goals up to March 2025. A further free transfer took him to Oriente Petrolero, where he made 27 appearances and scored five goals before leaving in January 2026. He has since moved to Nacional Potosí on a contract running to the end of 2026, and had made 13 appearances and scored once by the start of January 2026.
Abastoflor has represented Bolivia at both under-17 and under-23 level, including a call-up to the under-23 squad for the Pre-Olympic Tournament in 2024. He was also named in Bolivia's preliminary 48-man squad for 2026 World Cup qualifying in September 2023, though he has not yet made his senior debut.
