About the player
Vila Nova signed Eduardo dos Santos, known as Dudu, in March 2026 on loan from Anapolina, then made the move permanent in August, buying a majority stake in his economic rights and tying him down until the end of 2029. The midfielder came through the youth ranks at Floresta-CE before moving into senior football with Grêmio Pague Menos and Iguatu in the Ceará state league.
The breakthrough came in 2025 at Maranhão, where Eduardo made 32 appearances and helped the club win the Campeonato Maranhense and secure promotion to Série C. He then joined Anapolina, where he became an undisputed starter in the 2026 Campeonato Goiano, helping the side reach the semi-finals, win promotion to Série D and qualify for the Copa do Brasil.
Eduardo plays as a defensive midfielder, valued for his intensity in marking, his tackling and his distribution out of midfield, though he has also shown the versatility to push forward into a right-sided attacking role. At Vila Nova he wears the number 15 shirt.
