About the player
Emilio Saba's career has run mostly on other clubs' pitches. Mannucci in 2024, and now Sport Boys, where he arrived on loan in July 2025 on a deal running to the end of 2026. The stint at ADT stood out — Saba played 28 matches there in 2023 as the club reached the Copa Sudamericana for the first time in its history.
Born in Lima, Saba started out at Esther Grande de Bentín, where he once scored 28 goals in a season, before a path through Sport Boys and Alianza Lima as a teenager and a trial at Werder Bremen took him back to Melgar. Rumours of a move to Universitario de Deportes surfaced in mid-2026; Saba denied them.
His international story took an unusual turn. Saba first represented Peru at Under-23 level, winning 8 caps and scoring a penalty against Bolivia, and captained the side at the 2024 CONMEBOL Pre-Olympic Tournament. In October 2025, FIFA approved his switch to Palestine, and he made his senior debut for his new country the following month in a friendly defeat to the Basque Country. He was picked for the 2025 FIFA Arab Cup in Qatar, starting the opening goalless draw against the hosts and also featuring against Tunisia.
