Fernando Rubén Alarcón

Fernando Rubén Alarcón spent four years registered with Rosario Central's first-team squad without ever making a competitive appearance for them. It was at Villa Dálmine, on loan from 2017, that he finally made his professional debut, going on to play 29 matches and score twice in the Primera B Nacional.

Free of Rosario Central in 2019, Alarcón signed for Temperley and then moved to Tigre the following year. He joined Instituto Córdoba as a free agent in January 2022. He has since become a key player and captain there, passing 150 appearances for the club.

His time at Instituto has been defined by the club's return to the top flight. The team finished second in the 2022 Primera Nacional regular season before winning the Torneo Reducido play-offs, beating Estudiantes de Caseros in the final to secure promotion for the 2023 season. Alarcón has continued as a regular in the Primera División since, and in the 2026 Liga Profesional Apertura he has scored once in 20 matches, carrying an average rating of 7.13.

There is some uncertainty over his birthplace: Wikipedia and Transfermarkt list Guatimozín, in Córdoba province, while other sources point to Venado Tuerto, in Santa Fe — the two towns lie close to one another. He has not been called up to the Argentina national team.
