Gonzalo Luján Melli

Gonzalo Luján Melli came through San Lorenzo's youth academy, making his professional debut in the Copa Sudamericana against Huachipato before signing his first professional contract with the club in December 2021. He went on to make 78 league appearances and 96 in all competitions for San Lorenzo without scoring, before leaving in January 2025.

The move to Inter Miami reunited him with Javier Mascherano, who had previously called him up for Argentina's under-23 side. Argentine media reported Inter Miami paid around $600,000 for 40% of his rights, with San Lorenzo keeping the remainder, while other reports put the value at €775,000; either way, Luján signed through the end of the 2027 season with an option for 2028. In 2025, he was part of the Inter Miami squad that won the MLS Cup.

At international level, Luján has represented Argentina's under-23 team, playing three matches at the 2024 Paris Olympics against Iraq, Ukraine and France as Argentina reached the quarter-finals. He also won a silver medal at the 2024 Pan American Games and at the South American Pre-Olympic Tournament. He has not been capped by the senior national team.
