About the player
Ignacio Vázquez broke in at All Boys in 2017 and stayed until 2024, and it was there, during the 2018–19 promotion campaign from Primera B Metropolitana to Primera B Nacional, that he scored two goals in the playoffs.
Loan spells followed at Belgrano, at San Luis de Quillota in Chile and at Cerro Largo in Uruguay, before he returned to finish out his time at All Boys.
The club exercised that option in October 2023, tying him down until December 2026, and made him captain. Under the armband, Vázquez led Platense to the Torneo Apertura 2025, the club's first Argentine top-flight title, beating Huracán 1-0 in the final. He played every minute of the final and the whole playoff run, lifted the trophy, and was named the tournament's best player by the AFA.
Platense had already reached the final of the 2023 Copa de la Liga Profesional, where Vázquez started all three playoff matches, though the team finished runners-up that time. He has since passed 180 career appearances and 12 goals, all without a senior call-up to the Argentina national team.
