Javier Dominguez

Javier Domínguez arrived at Club Olimpia in January 2025 with the club already lining up reinforcements around him, among them Lisandro López and Darío Benedetto, though his own path there had run through the middle rungs of Paraguayan football rather than a direct route to the top. He came through the youth ranks at Sportivo Luqueño before a free transfer took him to Independiente FBC, where he played in the División Intermedia. The turning point came at Club Sportivo 2 de Mayo, where he captained the side and helped it win promotion to the Primera División.

That path led to Olimpia, and with the club he was part of the squad crowned champions of the Torneo Clausura 2024, sealed with a 0-0 draw against his former side, Sportivo 2 de Mayo, on 17 November 2024 — a match in which he played. He also featured as Olimpia reached the Supercopa Paraguay final in January 2025, a game the club lost 2-1 to Libertad.

In January 2026, Domínguez moved on loan to Atlético Tucumán in Argentina. Over his year in Argentina he made 12-13 appearances across league and continental competition, starting nine of them, before returning to Olimpia in August 2026. The loan spell did not bring goals or assists, but it gave him regular football in a demanding league away from home before he rejoined the club where he had already won a league title.
