About the player
José María Ataupillco Portal came through Ayacucho FC, making his professional debut there in 2021 and going on to feature in both the Peruvian second division and the Primera División. His time at the club also brought continental football, with an appearance in the 2022 Copa Sudamericana. He left on a free transfer at the start of 2026 to join Atlético Grau.
