Nicolás Benedetti Roa

Nicolás Benedetti was the joint top scorer of the 2018 Copa Sudamericana, finding the net five times and sharing the honour with Pablo of Atlético Paranaense. He came through the youth ranks at Deportivo Cali, making his professional debut for the club in July 2015 and staying on for four seasons before a move to Mexico.

Club América paid around €5.23 million for 75% of his rights in 2019, with Cali keeping the remaining quarter, and it was there that Benedetti added silverware to his goal-scoring reputation, lifting the Copa MX in the Clausura 2019 and the Campeón de Campeones the same season.

On the international stage, Benedetti's involvement with Colombia has been brief: a single senior cap, coming on as a substitute for Juan Fernando Quintero in a goalless friendly against Argentina in September 2018. At youth level he featured for the Colombia under-23 side at the 2020 South American Pre-Olympic Tournament, scoring once in two matches as the team finished fourth.

Benedetti signed for Las Palmas on a free transfer in December 2025, joining for the remainder of the 2025–26 season with an option for four further years tied to promotion to La Liga. His spell on the Canary Islands was a short one, limited to five appearances before his contract ran out, after which he returned to Deportivo Cali, the club where his career began, on a free transfer.
