About the player
Thiago Serpa was born in São Paulo. He joined the Liga Deportiva Universitaria academy at 15 and made his professional debut for the club in 2019, though his involvement was limited to a single league appearance and two matches in the Copa Ecuador, a competition LDU Quito won that season. With opportunities scarce, he left the club in January 2020.
A move to Deportivo Cuenca followed, and Serpa settled into a regular rotation there across the 2020 and 2021 seasons, making 23 league appearances. Técnico Universitario in 2022, then Libertad Fútbol Club later that year, where he featured in both the Segunda Categoría and Serie B before departing in August 2023 having made 19 appearances without scoring.
His longest recent stint came at Cumbayá Fútbol Club, where he made 34 appearances across the 2023 and 2024 seasons before leaving in January 2025. He was announced as an Aucas signing that December on a free transfer, ahead of the 2025 campaign. At Aucas he has made around 18 appearances so far, 17 of them in the Serie A and one in the Copa Sudamericana.
