Bordeaux JSA

JSA Bordeaux spent last season back in Nationale 2, the fourth tier, having dropped out of Nationale 1 at the end of 2021–22.

Relegated from Pro B after 2009–10, it won promotion straight back by taking the Nationale 1 title in 2010–11, only to drop out of Pro B again in 2013 and keep sliding to Nationale 2 by 2016. A run back up to Nationale 1 for 2018–19 lasted three seasons before the club fell again in 2022.

No player is tied to the club more than Boris Diaw, who came through its youth ranks before returning as an investor: in June 2009 he took a 33% stake and the vice-presidency, then was elected president the following year, at one point turning out for the team himself during the 2011 NBA lockout. He stepped down as president in March 2017. Élie Okobo followed a similar path through the academy before reaching the NBA, and Ludovic Vaty, a former France international center, returned to play for JSA after a heart condition had already cut short his professional career elsewhere.

The club has played at the Palais des Sports de Bordeaux, 2,700 seats, since January 2016, having moved on from the Salle Jean Dauguet and the Salle des Peupliers.
