Ada Blois

Orléans is the fixture that matters most in Blois.

The club that plays that derby today began as something else entirely: a gymnastics and shooting association called Abeille des Aydes, formed in 1907, with basketball only arriving after the Second World War. In 1995 the club went bankrupt and dropped to Regional 1, and needed until 2001 just to climb back to National 2.

What followed took another two decades to pay off. A National 2 title in 2005 led to an NM1 championship in 2016, won 75-50 against La Rochelle under coach Mickaël Hay. In 2018 Blois beat Saint-Chamond 86-62 to win the Pro B championship outright — and were refused promotion anyway, after the Ministry of Sports declined to approve their training centre.

Blois finished bottom of Betclic Elite in 2023-2024 and went straight back down to Pro B. Hay left that February, replaced by David Morabito, and the club has been rebuilding in the second tier since.
