Chartres

The men's side, C'Chartres Métropole Basket Masculin, did not start as one club at all — it took shape in 1998 when Jeanne d'Arc de Chartres, SCL Barjouville and CS Mainvilliers merged into Union Basket Grand Chartres. Barjouville's withdrawal in 2004 prompted a rename to Union Basket Chartres Métropole, and promotion to the professional second division in 2018 brought the current identity, CCBM, adopted to match the city's own branding.

The club has climbed without ever landing the biggest prizes: no Pro A or Pro B title, no Coupe de France, though it reached the round of 32 there. What it does have is a pair of lower-division championships, Nationale 3 in 2008–09 and Nationale 2 in 2010–11. Gautier Lemon and Damien Pistre are the names supporters still bring up. Derbies against Orléans Loiret Basket and ADA Blois are notable.

In 2024 the men's team left the old Halle Jean-Coche for Le Colisée, a 4,186-seat arena that gave Chartres basketball a home to match its ambitions. That same year, the women's side — C'Chartres Basket Féminin, dating to 1960 — won the Ligue Féminine 2 title and returned Chartres to the top flight of French women's basketball for 2024–25.
