Boulazac

Every meeting with Limoges CSP still gets marketed as the Derby Nouvelle-Aquitaine.

That catch-up took decades. The club grew out of US Périgourdine, formed in Périgueux in 1977, and only became something else once Le Palio went up in Boulazac in 1992 and the operation relocated and rebranded, first as US Périgord Boulazac and later as Boulazac Basket Dordogne. Progress after that came in steps rather than leaps: a Nationale 2 title in 2002–03, then Nationale 1 in 2004–05.

The club's ceiling has mostly been finals lost narrowly. Boulazac came second in the Coupe de France in 2017–18. What changed that pattern was the 2024–25 Pro B campaign, which BBD won outright to reach the LNB Élite for the first time.
