Strasbourg

Strasbourg carries two ball games under one civic identity, and the basketball side of it answers to SIG. The club has held Rhénus Sport as its floor, a 6,200-seat hall the regulars still call the Forum, and it has spent decades treating the LNB Pro A as home ground.

The championship that matters most sits alone in 2004–05, the single LNB Pro A crown, and everything since has been built around cups rather than that top prize: two editions of the Coupe de France, in 2014–15 and 2017–18, two Leaders Cups either side of them, and a Match des Champions in 2015. Continental football has stayed at the quarterfinal stage since, reached twice in the Basketball Champions League without going further.

Across town rivalries mean little to SIG; the one that does is played out against SLUC Nancy, a fixture known locally as the Dérby de l'Est.

No one is tied to the shirt the way Antoine Diot is. He came up through the SIG academy and never left for another club across a career that ran from 2009 to 2023, finishing it as the team's all-time leading scorer. Frank Ntilikina followed a shorter version of the same path, signing his first professional contract there in 2015 before the NBA came calling.
