JL Bourg

Its basketball club, Jeunesse Laïque de Bourg-en-Bresse, is known as "La JL", or "La Jeu" to those who say it as a word. Henri Mamet, the first president, set it up in 1910.

The club's modern shape comes from January 2014, when the Ekinox opened. The first official game there was a Pro B fixture against Aix-Maurienne on 24 January 2014, which Bourg won 91–64. The hall, owned by the local authority Grand Bourg Agglomération, holds 3,548 for basketball. That year the club won promotion to Pro A for the first time, but was relegated after the 2014–15 season. It came back in 2017 as Pro B champion.

Devin Booker was named Pro A most valuable player in 2016. Zachery Peacock played for Bourg from 2016 to 2021, took the 2018 league MVP and scoring titles, and had his shirt retired by the club.

In 2023–24 Bourg reached the EuroCup final and lost to Paris Basketball. Zaccharie Risacher spent the season on loan from ASVEL, the club's Rhône-Alpes derby rival, and in 2024 became the first pick of the NBA Draft, taken by the Atlanta Hawks. In 2024–25 Bourg reached the semi-finals of the French top flight, its best result there, though it has never won that title.

The EuroCup final was reached again in 2025–26.
