DSVD are back in the Derde Klasse this season after winning that division's championship in 2025/2026.

The bigger prizes sit further back. In 1974 DSVD beat HNS in Schiedam to take the National Field Handball Championship — the last field handball title the Netherlands has awarded, which makes it a fixed point in the club's history rather than one trophy among others. The indoor game brought promotion to the Eredivisie in 1991, after the team had first reached the national first class in 1970, and further championships followed in the Hoofdklasse A in 2008 and the Tweede Klasse in 2014.

Eva Seiger came through at DSVD from the age of eight and stayed until 2014, by which point she had already won the 2008 Dutch championship as part of Twente's selection — a rare case of a player carrying a national title back to the club that raised her. Matches against Kwiek of Raalte carry the weight of a derby.

The shirt has stayed red and white checkered since the beginning, worn over white shorts or skirts, a pairing the club has not changed. It traces back to 14 May 1952, when 44 women registered at a founding meeting to establish a handball department inside DSVD, an omnisport club that already existed from 1935.
