Molynes United

Wolry Wolfe played international football for Jamaica before returning to Molynes in July 2025 as assistant to head coach Jermaine Thomas, the kind of appointment that tells you where the club now sees itself: no longer the newcomer scrapping for a foothold, but an outfit trying to consolidate one. That foothold came in 2019, when Lijyasu Simms took the side through the JFF All-Island Confederation Play-Offs and a 3–0 win over Downs United in the final settled promotion to the Jamaica Premier League. Molynes United had been playing in the Molynes district of Kingston since 1991, founded by people from the community rather than by a benefactor or a company, and it took nearly three decades to reach the top flight.

The debut in the Premier League matched the manner of the arrival: a 3–0 win over Portmore United, with Devon Hodges among the scorers before he retired from the game the following year. Jacisera Park, the ground the club had moved into only in 2018 after Digicel took over its previous home at Chalmers Avenue, was not ready to host top-flight football straight away, so part of that first season was played instead at Constant Spring Field.

Striker Thorn Simpson spent two seasons at the club either side of a loan to USL League One side North Carolina FC, where he made 20 appearances. Molynes have shared little of the rivalry that colours fixtures against the other Kingston clubs — Harbour View, Waterhouse, Arnett Gardens — and have won nothing in the league or the Jamaica Cup since they were founded. Under Cruickshank as president and Cornwall as owner, the club's current work runs through its schools programmes around Kingston as much as through results, with staying in the Premier League still the more pressing task on the pitch.
