Oborniki Śląskie sits on the Widawa, a small town in Lower Silesia. That is where SPR Bór trains and plays, and where a men's side has spent seasons in the second tier of Polish handball, the I Liga.
The club goes back to a registration on 7 February 2002, filed under the name Stowarzyszenie Piłki Ręcznej Bór. Green and white have stayed the colours since.
Promotion in 2019/2020 brought Bór into the I Liga as a newcomer — there are no I Liga or II Liga championships in the club's history.
