Parauapebas

Twice a season Parauapebas measure themselves against the region that made them: against Águia de Marabá in the Clássico do Sudeste, and against Atlético Paraense in the Clássico dos Minérios — Carajás, the iron-ore basin next door, gave the club its industrial identity in the first place. That identity produced the nickname Gigante de Aço, the Steel Giant, worn alongside the older Trem de Ferro, the Iron Train.

The club took shape in 1989, and it has spent most of its life shuttling between Pará's first and second divisions rather than settling in either. Promotion came in 2010, when they won the Campeonato Paraense's second division. Five years later they had their best run: third place in the Campeonato Paraense Série A, where the run ended in the first phase. That same year, 2015, brought a domestic double of sorts — the Taça ACLEP and the honorary Campeão do Interior title.

They returned to the second-division final in 2017 and lost it, finishing runners-up, and the years since have followed the same up-and-down pattern rather than a clear trajectory in either direction. In July 2024, the club pulled out of that year's second-division campaign altogether. Matches are still played at Rosenão, but there is no functioning club website left to speak of — what remains of Parauapebas's public presence sits on social media.
