PSBS Biak Numfor

Stadion Cenderawasih sits in Biak with room for 15,000, and its drainage cannot keep up: the pitch flooded during a Liga 2 final in March 2024. Poor floodlighting has drawn the same complaints. None of it stopped PSBS Biak Numfor from turning the ground into the stage for the biggest result in the club's history that same year.

The club traces back to 1964 and has carried the nickname Badai Pasifik, the Pacific Storm, ever since. Its supporters go by a separate name, Napi Bongkar, and follow the team in yellow and green, the home shirt built around vertical stripes.

The defining fixture is the Derby Papua against Persipura Jayapura, a rivalry that gives the season its sharpest edge regardless of where either club sits in the table.

In the 2023/2024 campaign PSBS Biak Numfor went all the way in Liga 2, beating Semen Padang in the final after winning the first leg 3-0 on their own ground and closing it out away. The run carried the signature of striker Beto Goncalves, a former Timnas Indonesia forward, and leaned on the experience of defender Fabiano Beltrame. That title brought promotion to Liga 1 for 2024/2025, and the club moved to back the step up, bringing in Bolivian defender Sebastian Alvarez and Argentine forward Ariel Nahuelpan alongside the returning Brazilian pair up front.

Captain Ruben Sanadi remains the local face of the side through that transition, leading a squad now measuring itself against Indonesia's top flight rather than the level it spent decades used to.
