Regensburg is a Bavarian city on the Danube, and for a stretch of the 2010s it had no men's team playing at any real level of volleyball. That gap is what DonauVolleys Regensburg was built to close: founded on June 5, 2020.
The club's shape changed in 2022, when it took over the playing rights and most of the roster of TSV Deggendorf after that club shut down its men's team in the 3. Liga Ost. Outside hitter Daniel Weber, middle blocker Johannes Ullmann and Sebastian Köck all arrived through that move. Promotion to the 2. Bundesliga Süd follows for the 2026/27 season.
Matches are played in yellow and grey at the Clermont-Ferrand-Arena, a hall attached to the Clermont-Ferrand-Mittelschule. The one honour on record so far belongs to the youth setup, whose U12 side won a Bavarian championship in 2025.
