Sinopspor

Founded in 1970 by a pharmacist, Özcan Tekinalp, and a handful of associates, Sinopspor has kept the same name ever since, without mergers or a rebrand along the way.

Purple and white run through everything about it, from the shirts to the nickname Mor-Beyazlılar. The club's ceiling has stayed the TFF 3. Lig, reached twice, in 1984–1989 and again in 2001–2005. What it has done instead is win its province outright — the Sinop 1. Amateur Football League — three times, in 2013–14, 2016–17 and 2023–24.

Those promotion campaigns brought in players with a heavier pedigree than the town usually sees: the Brazilian Alanzinho, who had a Turkish Cup winner's medal from his time at Trabzonspor, and the Sierra Leonean forward Ibrahim Teteh Bangura, previously of Bursaspor in the Süper Lig, both arriving during the 2017–2018 push.
