Anyone in Solothurn who follows the team through its January weekends knows the club by a name: an ambassador side, styled 'Die Ambassadoren'. The handball section grew out of Turnverein Solothurn, the gymnastics club, and split off as its own department in 1932.

Red and white have stayed the club's colours since. Honours, though, sit thin on the shelf: a Kleinfeldhandball title in the 1972/73 season remains the one championship the club can point to. The Nationalliga A and the Swiss Cup have both gone to others.
