Schweizer Cup (Switzerland) 2026/27

The Swiss Handball Cup is the premier national knockout tournament for the sport in Switzerland. Since 2021, it has carried the title of the Mobiliar Handball Cup following a sponsorship agreement with the insurance company La Mobilière. Run by the Swiss Handball Association, the competition features distinct editions for men and women. The men’s version began in 1980 and 1981 before resuming annually from the 1997–98 season, while the women’s competition started in 1999–00. It stands above the domestic league structure, operating as a single-elimination event that draws roughly 70 teams from the top-tier Handball League down to regional lower divisions. Top-flight clubs usually enter in the Round of 16, whereas lower-tier sides contest preliminary rounds. A recent reform for the 2025/26 season introduced a ‘Final 4’ weekend in Kriens for the semi-finals and final. Kadetten Schaffhausen hold the men’s record with eleven titles, and LC Brühl leads the women’s category with twelve. Victory earns the winner a place in the Swiss Super Cup against the league champion. The event is separate from the Swiss Super Cup, which is a single match, and from the league championships. The Swiss Handball Association also organizes youth cups for U19 and U18 age groups alongside regional competitions for younger players.
