Val de Seine

The Gymnase des Postillons in Sèvres holds 300 people, a size that suited Val de Seine Basket for years while the team worked its way through the lower divisions of French basketball. That changed once the club's results outgrew the room: after finishing Vice-Champions of France in Nationale 2 in 2025, losing the final to Gravenchon 91-85 after extra time, Val de Seine moved up to Nationale 1 for the 2025-2026 season.

The rise had come fast. The club, known to its supporters as Les Crocos, had been playing as low as Nationale 3 around 2023, and reaching Nationale 1 two seasons later meant jumping two tiers in a short stretch.

Staying up proved harder than getting there. To cope with the step up, the club brought in seven new players over the summer, including the American forward Tyem Freeman, formerly of UIC Flames in the NCAA, alongside French recruits such as Kevin Cham and Gaylord Lobela. The captain of the promotion-winning side, Ibrahima Sidibé, remained through the Nationale 1 campaign before leaving afterwards along with Kiady Razanamahenina, while Lobela stayed on and Emric Gallienne arrived from Nationale 2.

In the Coupe de France, Val de Seine reached the last 16 in 2024-2025 against ASC Tours, though the following season ended at the first hurdle of the main draw, beaten by Boulogne-sur-Mer 81-63 — a fixture with no local edge to it, given the distance between the Paris region and Hauts-de-France.

The Nationale 1 season itself finished level, 13 wins and 13 losses, not enough to reach the playoffs.
