The club traces back to Khimik-ShVSM, a side that had spent the late 1990s and early 2000s in the Eastern European Hockey League before the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee refashioned it as HC Vitebsk on 20 August 2001. A further reorganisation in 2005 gave the club its current identity and its move into the Vitebsk Ice Palace of Sports, where it has played since.
Back-to-back Salei Cup wins followed, beating HC Gomel in the 2022 final and Shakhter Soligorsk in 2023, both by 2:1. A silver medal in the Betera Extraliga followed in 2024-25, the club's best league finish, and the Euro-Asian Cup of Friendship was won in Minsk against Torpedo-Gorky, also 2:1.
Roman Yupatov has coached that rise from the bench since July 2020.
