Arena Vilnius
Vilnius, Lithuania
Formerly: Siemens Arena, Avia Solutions Group Arena
Arena Vilnius sits on Ozo g. 14. The shape is long and low, built for basketball rather than football.
It opened on 30 October 2004 after construction between 2003 and 2004, a job that cost 25 million USD. The architects were Jungtinės Architektų Dirbtuvės and Stadium Consultants International, with the contractor UAB 'Kausta' and the structural engineer A. Ražaitis of UAB 'Ribinis būvis'. It was recognised as the best sport building of 2004 in Lithuania. The capacity for basketball stands at 10,000; the figure for concerts rises to 13,500. A major renovation in 2023 cost approximately €11 million and added 10 per cent to the seating, though the final number is not confirmed by any official source.
BC Rytas and BC Wolves play here for their basketball fixtures, and the 2021 FIFA Futsal World Cup found a home within its walls. The original Siemens Arena name was replaced after the upgrade, and the arena is now called Twinsbet Arena or Avia Solutions Group Arena. It is not the home ground for FK Žalgiris, who play at the FK Žalgiris Namų Stadionas on Stadiono g. 2 or at Sportima Arena on Ąžuolyno g. 5.
The arena is not designed for outdoor sport.
