Goyang Gymnasium

The Goyang Gymnasium does not declare itself loudly. The seating capacity for their games is officially 6,216, a number that sits comfortably in the middle of the range found in different reports.

This distinction matters because the venue is not what its name suggests. "Gymnasium" in the Korean context is broad, and here it covers a floor that sees basketball, fencing, and concerts in equal measure. The primary tenant, the Goyang Sono Skygunners of the Korean Basketball League (KBL), arrived here when the city relocated the franchise in 2011. It saw the fencing competitions at the 2014 Incheon Asian Games, where 238 athletes from 25 nations took to the strips. More recently, it staged the 2024 FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers and the 2023–2024 KBL All-Star Game.
