Hala Powiatowa w Pabianicach

The building in the photograph is not the sports hall. It is a restored church with a green copper roof, a small bell tower and a statue in a niche on the gable. The sports hall is a separate, modern building elsewhere in the town.

The Powiatowa Hala Sportowa sits on ul. Świętego Jana. The county office laid the foundations, and Rosa-Bud S.A. finished the structure in 2012. The hall opened its doors in December that year. It is not a large venue; it is enough for a local basketball match on a quiet evening.

The floor is wooden parquet for the women's team PTK Pabianice. They have not won a championship since the early nineties, but they still play in the I liga, the second tier. The hall also hosts PABiKS IMPACT Pabianice for their handball matches. Cultural events are rare inside.
