Quezon Convention Center
Lucena City, Philippines
The Quezon Convention Center sits close to the Provincial Capitol in Lucena City, but that proximity does not make it a quiet place on matchdays.
It is an indoor arena, not a football pitch, and that distinction shapes every game held there. The main hall holds 7,000 seats, though the crowd for the 2016–17 PBA Philippine Cup Finals pushed the numbers to 8,000. The standard seating capacity is listed in the card above; the extra figures came from a night when the San Miguel Beermen and Barangay Ginebra San Miguel played under lights that felt like summer.
Basketball and volleyball take up the floor. The Quezon Huskers of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) split their home games between this center and the newer Lucena Convention Center, so the dust on the bleachers here tells a different story than in the other building. The MPVA also brings its games to the polished court, where the sound of sneakers on hardwood echoes off the walls.
The venue opened in 2002, built with savings from the provincial government and inaugurated by former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo. It has not been renamed or sold to a commercial sponsor; it remains the Quezon Convention Center, a name carved into the facade.
Renovation work continues in the background, a slow modernisation that does not stop the games. The city watches, the teams play, and the arena fills again, night after night.
