The Sports Complex 'Olimpiets' rises from the city centre. The athletics arena sits beneath the team sports hall. The lower level opens up into a concourse.

The athletics arena opened in August 2005, followed by the team sports hall in May 2006.

The building gained wider attention during the 2014 Women's Handball European Championship qualifiers, when the stands filled for a match between Belarus and Romania. That fixture set an attendance record of nearly 1,490 people, a figure that has since been matched during a SEHA League match in 2022.
