The club that carries the name Borisfen only came into being because the one before it could not go on. BC Temp-OSHVSM folded after the death of Anatoly Komlev, the coach who had driven it for years, and it was the Mogilev regional basketball federation that stepped in, founding a new club on September 3, 2010, with Vladimir Kopylov as director. The name itself reaches further back than the club does — it is the ancient name for the Dnieper.

The first season gave no hint of what would follow: last place, a forfeited final game, relegation to the third tier. Mogilev basketball only started to matter again around 2015, when Borisfen took its first medals, bronze in the Premier League. The real shift came under Andrei Krivonos, a former club captain who had won the European Youth Championship in 1994 and returned to the bench for the 2017/2018 season. He brought in the first American imports and put a knight on the crest, drawn from Mogilev's own coat of arms — the same knight that gave the team its nickname.

What Krivonos built was a side that could not stop finishing second. Between 2015 and 2024, Borisfen reached the Premier League final eight times and lost every one of them. The run of silver medals ended with a different shade of metal in 2023, when Borisfen beat Grodno-93 83:75 to win the Belarusian Cup — the first trophy in the club's history.

Andrei Ageenko carried the club through most of that story from the inside, playing fifteen seasons in the green and white.

The Olympiec gymnasium in Mogilev, where it all plays out, holds 1,500.
