Men's basketball had been absent from the top division in Brest for three decades when the regional sports authorities decided to put it back there. That side, BC Brest, took the floor for the first time in the 2016/2017 season.

The club plays out of the Victoria Sports Palace on Leningradskaya Street, a venue that holds up to 3,740 spectators and doubles as home for TSOR Victoria's women's team as well. Brest have settled into the middle and lower reaches of the table since their debut season — a 7th-place finish in 2025/2026 is typical of where the club has generally sat.

The Belarusian championship itself has stayed out of reach. Minsk, Grodno and Vitebsk have carried the country's basketball titles between them for years, and Brest has yet to break into that group.
