Neuilly-sur-Marne

Neuilly-sur-Marne's main rival is Cergy-Pontoise, another club from the Paris region. The facts give no detail on how the rivalry began, but it matters to a club that has spent most of its life below the top flight and measures itself against its neighbours.

The best years came in the second tier. The men won the Division 1 title in 2008 and again in 2011. The Ligue Magnus, the top division, has never been theirs, and neither has the men's Coupe de France. The 2001 Division 3 championship, the fourth tier, marks the point from which the climb began.

The women's side carried the club's name further than the men's. They won the French Élite championship four years running, in 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016, and in 2016 added the Coupe de France. It is the only sequence of consecutive national titles in the club's record.

The Bisons play in red and black at the municipal rink, also known as the Patinoire Léon Blum. It holds 500 seats, so a full house is a small crowd by the standards of a Ligue Magnus arena, and the atmosphere comes from proximity rather than numbers. Among the men who have played there are Nicolas Pousset and Sébastien Dermigny.

The club has been called HCNM 93 since 2007. It began in 1974 as an ice hockey section of the Sporting Club Municipal de Neuilly-sur-Marne, the town's multi-sport club. It became a separate club in 1981 as the Hockey Club de Neuilly-sur-Marne.
