About the player
Alfons Amade grew up in Germany and now plays for Mozambique. He scored his first international goal against Botswana in a friendly in January 2024. His second came against Somalia in a 2026 World Cup qualifier on 7 June 2024, and Mozambique won that game 2–1. He has since been part of the squads for the 2023 and 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
His route there ran through Germany's youth teams. He played for Germany from under-15 to under-20 level and scored four goals. He switched allegiance and made his senior debut for Mozambique in 2024.
At club level, he joined TSG Hoffenheim in 2010, after starting out at SSV Vogelstang and Waldhof Mannheim. He came through the academy and made his Bundesliga debut on 2 March 2019 against Eintracht Frankfurt. He also played 54 matches for the reserve side in the Regionalliga Südwest. A loan to Eintracht Braunschweig in the 3. Liga in 2019–20 brought four appearances.
In July 2021 he moved to Belgium on a free transfer, signing for K.V. Oostende. He stayed until June 2024, making 55 league appearances and scoring twice. The club were relegated to the Challenger Pro League during that time. In October 2024 he moved to Septemvri Sofia in Bulgaria, again on a free transfer. He made 21 league appearances there and scored twice.
On 4 July 2025 he signed a two-year contract with Dunfermline Athletic of the Scottish Championship, once more as a free agent. He has made 53 appearances for the club in all competitions, 28 of them in 2025–26 and seven so far this season.
