Alexandar Popovic

Alexandar Popović came through Adelaide United's youth ranks and signed a scholarship contract for the 2021–22 season, making his A-League Men debut for the club in March 2022. Over three seasons at Adelaide United he built up 40 appearances before a move to South Korea in January 2024, when Gwangju FC signed him from the A-League club.

His time in the K League was brief. In September 2024, Popović returned to Australia on loan with Sydney FC and made 11 appearances during the 2024–25 season. He went back to Gwangju in January 2025, but Sydney FC exercised their option to sign him outright the following month. He added five more appearances for Sydney FC after the transfer was completed, then played close to twenty outings for the club in the 2025–26 campaign.

Popović has also featured for Australia at under-23 level, collecting caps for the U23 side and reaching the final of the 2024 WAFF U-23 Championship as a runner-up. He was named in the Socceroos squad for World Cup qualifiers in March 2025 and was included on Australia's roster for the 2026 World Cup. He was also picked for the A-Leagues All Stars fixture in 2022, an early sign of the profile he built during his Adelaide years.
