About the player
Albert Aleksanjan was born in Latvia but grew up in Norway from the age of three. He came through the youth ranks at Frigg Oslo FK before moving on to Ullern IF, where he played for the senior side and reserves in the Norwegian Third Division. The step up came in 2025 at Ullensaker/Kisa in the Second Division, where he became the club's leading scorer with 25 goal contributions in all competitions, including 10 league goals and 9 assists. That form drew interest from Sweden.
Aleksanjan joined IFK Norrköping on a free transfer, signing a contract running to the end of 2028. He made his Superettan debut for the club and scored in his first appearance.
Eligible for Latvia, Norway and Armenia, he chose to represent Latvia. He made his debut for the Latvia under-21 side in a Baltic Cup match against Estonia that finished 1-1, and has gone on to win two caps at that level. In September he received his first call-up to the senior Latvia squad for UEFA Nations League fixtures, among them a match against Armenia, though a senior debut has yet to follow.
Standing 193 cm tall, Aleksanjan plays as a forward, though he has also featured as a winger.
