About the player
Anderson Ceará joined the club's youth system in October 2012 and left when his contract ran out in 2023. He signed his first professional contract on 27 July 2018, a deal valid until June 2021, and made his senior debut the same year. He appeared in the Brazilian Série A in 2018, 2020 and 2021, though he won no major titles with the club.
Much of his development came away from Santos. He was loaned to CRB for 2020–21, to Maringá in 2022 and to Santa Cruz from 2022 into 2023. He left Santa Cruz as a free agent. The left-footed attacking midfielder, who can also play on the wing, then looked abroad.
On 23 February 2024 he joined the Romanian club Csíkszereda Miercurea Ciuc on a free transfer. It was the first time he had played outside Brazil. Over the next two years he played 79 league games and scored 11 goals. Csíkszereda won promotion from Liga II to Liga I, and he was part of that side.
His time in Romania ended in August 2026. On 13 August he moved to the Egyptian side National Bank of Egypt, also known as Al Ahly Bank, in the Egyptian Premier League. The reported fee was €400,000.
