About the player
André Simões came through the youth ranks at Vilaverdense, Famalicão and Porto before completing his formation at Gil Vicente, where he signed his first professional contract in 2022. He made his senior debut that season in Liga Portugal 2 and the League Cup, and got a single Primeira Liga appearance in 2023/24 before leaving as a free agent.
He joined Torreense in July 2024 and established himself as a key midfielder in Liga Portugal 2. He was part of the squad that beat Sporting CP 2–1 after extra time in the 2025–26 Taça de Portugal — the first time a second-division side had won the competition. He also found the net in the league against Farense.
Torreense have since tied him down with a contract renewal running until 2028.
